While many of you like to beat the heat and take off on vacation in June, it’s nice to know there are still some fun events going on this month for those of us sticking around, braving the triple-digit heat.  

 

3 DOORS DOWN

NEWSIES AT ASU GAMMAGE

June 14-19 is a perfect time to escape the heat by going to see the Tony Award-winning music “Newsies” from Disney at ASU Gammage. “Newsies” tells the story of a band of underdogs who become unlikely heroes when they stand up to New York’s most powerful men.  The inspirational message of staying true to who you are should leave you feeling good afterwards.  Based on true events.  Tickets for “Newsies” are $30-$150.  www.asugammage.com

 

WOMEN OF SCOTTSDALE BUSINESS LUNCHEON

MONTHLY MASHUP

On June 19, from 5:30pm-930pm, The Four Seasons Resort and Troon North’s Monthly Mashup dinner series invites acclaimed Valley Chef Mel Mecinas at Talavera to participate with Chef Kelly Fletcher of El Chorro for the final mashup dinner of the series. BAG IT! Wine & Dine

On June 26 at 5:30pm, Phoenix’s first BAG IT! Wine & Dine will be hosted by the Camby Hotel.  This event is for you if you’re an avid fan of game shows. Cocktail hour kicks off the evening where guests can browse the silent auction.  After that, a dinner will feature three wine-paired courses.  Proceeds from BAG IT! Wine & Dine will assist more than 3,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients and their families in Maricopa County.  $150.  www.bagit4u.org
