Hiking
With a short 5 to 10 minute drive from Paradise Valley, Camelback Mountain has two main trails that go up approximately 1,200 feet in elevation. In addition, there are also 180 miles of other trails located throughout Phoenix, which makes it the perfect opportunity to enjoy nature up close and personal, do some hiking and biking, and have lunch outdoors surrounded by a beautiful environment.
Golfing
Mountain Shadows Golf Club and Camelback Golf Club are the two closest golf clubs to Paradise Valley, and both are just what you want for a day out on the green. Mountain Shadows is 3,081 yards, par 56, and 18-holes, and is surrounded by spectacular greenery and scenery. Camelback Golf Club is par 72, takes up 6,903 yards, and was voted by Arizona Golf Magazine as having the best water hole in Arizona.
Spas
There's no shortage of spas in Paradise Valley and in the surrounding areas. The Scottsdale Plaza Resort is located on 40 acres, has five swimming pools, Arizona's largest whirlpool spa, numerous spa amenities, a fitness center, tennis courts, and more. They also received a 4.9 out of 5 stars by Wedding Wire as one of the best wedding venues in Phoenix. The Montelucia Resort and Spa was built in 2008, has over 250 guest rooms and suites, fabulous restaurants, and a 31,000 square foot spa and fitness center. Who couldn't use a little spa day?
Dining
After a long day of golfing or hiking, how could you not want to chow down on some fabulous food? Elements is just one restaurant to consider in Paradise Valley. They may not offer a large menu, but what they do offer is fabulous, and is made even better by the stunning views of Camelback Mountain. They offer gluten-free and vegetarian options, organic produce, a raw bar, and even more. Another restaurant to visit is El Chorro, which was built in 1934. While they're known for their sticky buns, their other food is fantastic as well as evidenced by their accolades, including receiving the 2013 Diner's choice Award by OpenTable.com, and the 2013 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.
Although Paradise Valley is small, don't underestimate the big punch of beauty and appeal that it has.
